Let's examine different formats of such work using recent IQusion agreements as an example.
Different Update Formats
In October, IQusion reported on a project that includes document archive migration, process configuration, and integration. This is an example of a comprehensive transition where not only the software version changes, but also the principles of data handling.
Another format involves supplying an updated system version without major process changes. For instance, on September 22, an agreement was signed for updating Megapolis.DocNet with usage rights for 47 workstations. Such procurements typically do not include complex migration work unless explicitly stipulated in the agreement.
How to Plan the Transition
When a corporate team prepares for EDMS modernisation, it is advisable to clearly separate tasks. First, it is necessary to determine which results can be transferred independently and which are interconnected. For example, configuring new approval routes may require prior integration with the HR system.
The sequence of launch must also be agreed upon. It is important that users do not lose access to the necessary document history during the transition. Therefore, archive migration is planned so that old documents remain accessible for viewing even before the full deployment of new workflows.
