Qualified Electronic Signature for Business: Key Aspects and Benefits
The Qualified Electronic Signature (QES) is a crucial tool for Ukrainian businesses, ensuring the legal validity of electronic documents.
The Qualified Electronic Signature (QES) is an integral part of modern electronic document management, ensuring subscriber identification and data integrity. Recently, the publication Deals released an article focusing on the key aspects of using QES for businesses in Ukraine.
A QES is electronic data logically linked to other data and used for identifying an individual. In Ukraine, under certain conditions, a QES is equivalent to a handwritten signature, granting electronic documents full legal force. This is possible provided an enhanced certificate key is used, it is valid at the time of signing, and the private key corresponds to the public key.
This tool is widely used for submitting electronic declarations, signing agreements, and exchanging documents with government bodies and partners. For Ukrainian businesses, using QES translates to significant time savings, simplified administrative procedures, and the ability to conduct operations remotely, which is particularly relevant in today’s environment.
QES can be obtained from Accredited Key Certification Centers (AKCC) by submitting the required documentation. Both paid and free options are available, for instance, from the AKCC of the Information and Reference Department of the State Tax Service. It is important to remember that the private key of a QES is confidential and must not be shared with others to prevent compromise.
